The Caversham Rose

A newly refurbished bar has re opened it doors last week and it has all the thumbs up from me. I never knew the place before so I’ve pretty much walked into it as new place to go. First impressions of bar always count for me, I’ve seen a quite a few in my lifetime in all shapes and sizes and I have to admit I do like a bit of the wow factor when you walk in. The Caversham Rose is firstly a impressive size and very pretty, I love how it’s been styled inside and out, the outside area is perfect for summer evenings and it even has heaters so you can stay out there all night long if you wished. With its cool background music and well mannered staff greeting you as you walk through the door it immediately makes you feel at home. It’s not lost the local pub vibe, yet it’s striving for much more and it works. I went last week and its very clear everyone was enjoying themselves …

Time to feel the burn…

Here I am 7 weeks till my wedding and where’s my motivation ? It disappeared somewhere inbetween lost village festival and having some bloody good nights out. You know the drill, drunk, hungover, carb overload, guilt….. REPEAT NEXT FRIDAY ! The thing is I don’t get much baby free time so when I do I tend to go all in, face down, got the flavour kind of drinking and the crappy food comes hand in hand. Except with only 7 weeks to the wedding, one trip to Italy and Bestival looming I have got myself in a bit of a panic. Not all hope is lost though in steps My Fit Zone, a friend of mines new company and I have to say they may just be my saviours. http://www.myfitzone.co.uk It’s really personalised and I like it, meal plans a face to face chat about why I’m feeling the way I do, bags and bags of encouragement and motivation – ahhhh just what I needed. Guess what guys I got my mojo back, since Wednesday …

Bonkers – All the best people are !

So I hit 34 without too much of a melt down like previous years.  I’m really not one for celebrating my own birthday in a big style, so this year I really wanted to go to the Mad Hatters tea party at The Sanderson in London. I’ve heard such great things about it and it didn’t disappoint !! On the scale of afternoon teas with a difference this has to be right up there. The Sanderson itself is pretty cool, as you walk in your greated by a huge red lip sofa       and modern design features !! The Tea itself is in the courtyard , it was throwing it down but they make it into more of a conservatory putting up sides and patio heaters – it was perfect ! We got to choose our tea there were 5 different flavours all named after the various characters, we all chose different so we could taste at least 3. The savoury a were soon out and wow the cheese on toast was something …
